Sawadee everyone! Currently residing in Chiang Mai. Its been somewhat tiring yet exciting at the same time! Been eating soo much too!

I arrived in bangkok safe and sound on tuesday night...will and i were pretty tired. The 9 hr ride was exhausting...i cant imagine how painful the flight to europe would have been..

Anyways, on arrival at the hotel we were greeted by thao and halynh. We tried so hard to be excited for them..but we were exhausted. The next morning however, we managed to get up at 8 and do a bit of exploring. Tried alot of fruit...jackfruit, dragon fruit, papaya, you name it.

Next day we arrived in Chiang Mai. I didnt get there til about 3 cause i was on a different flight... once there we got to the hotel and organised some tours for the next 4 days.

We've been to the national park and stood on the highest point in thailand...then we went to visit 3 waterfalls. There was alot of driving involved and i slept alot...but other than that..it was relaxing.

today, we went on an exciting elephant safari..followed by some bamboo rafting down the Mae Ping river and ox cart riding to lunch - mind you it was a buffet lunch! I'm soo full.

tomorrow were planning on visiting some temples. not all exciting..but it'll be nice to experience the culture a bit more. Oh, did i mention we went to a dinner show on the first night? Wills friend from uni (Aim) showed us round. Her parents also went to us to dinner show were we sat on mats and ate with our hands on the ground while watching all the traditional thai dances from the different regions of thailand.

Also just for mel, we've booked a thai herbal message for 2moro! I'm really looking forward to that. The hotel were staying at in chiang mai is tres posh! I'm loving it! 2 pools and stuff.

Unfortunately thai ppl here dont celebrate xmas..so it wasnt a big thing. Although when we went back to our hotel room we did get a stocking full of lollies left on the bed! :)

Anyways, net is by the minute here and its not all that cheap! If you've emailed me sorry i cant reply just yet. These browsers are soo old they cant open my gmail! How sucky!

Hope all is well in OZ and that Santa thought u were all good! Otherwise, theres always next year to make up for it!

P.S - Chiang mai is heaps cooler than bangkok. Nights and mornings are a bit frosty
