This will be a double whammy blog, but hopefully you will still read them and comment on them. So, i was recreating half the pages on my site and realised that i hadnt changed the look throughout the entire site. Plus i realised what a pain it is trying to get a frame site to look good out of frames - very tiresome!

Anyways, my point with this story was...i was reading some of the shoutouts that i wrote like 2 years ago and realised how much my relationship with people have changed. Some have grown deeper, some have deteriorated and others are simply hanging on a thread or not existent (i wont name any names!) It really makes you realise how fast time can fly and what can happen in that amount of time. Oh all my friends, i am sad to say that i may only be close to a select few. In my mind, i already know who these people are going to be... cause i'm going to work hard to make them work. For others, i wonder... friendship is a 2 way street. Unless the other person is making an effort, its very unlikely that i will.

I think i'm at a borderline atm. Uni is going to end and a new way of life is opening up. Right now, i'm just standing in between. I'm quite comfortable where i am, but sometimes i'm too comfortable. I look forward to whats ahead, but i'm also a bit scared of the challenges that i have yet to face. I dont want to step that line yet...even though i can see part of it in front of me. Eehh... must be the late night pondering...

Anyways, mindy's speech for you all to read:

Introduction

My name is Minh, this is Eric and were here to recount the later half of mindy’s life. When I said recount I really meant ….to embarrass, to mock, and to make fun of Mindy and our experiences with her. After all, what are friends for?

As we all know, Mindy loves Britney Spears… so in tribute to Mindy, tonight we are going to recount events to the tunes of Britney Spears! So to save everyone the torture, we’ll try and keep it short.

Baby One More Time (“oh baby baby” to be sung by Eric)

I first met Mindy on a coach heading to our first year camp, we never introduced ourselves formally but I always thought she had a baby face…the type with cheeks you just want to squeeze all the time.

I finally got my opportunity to show it to world when we had to take photos for a bachelorette competition in first year. As mindy was lining up for her shot, right before the camera went off I squeezed her cheeks together. Unfortunately this was the shot that was plastered around uni walls.

Needless to say… I made mindy a star!

Me against the Music

Why me against the music you ask? Well, because of the controversial girl-on-girl kiss shared by Britney and Madonna. Like Britney, Mindy isn’t as innocent as she looks. She’s never one to turn away from lesbian kisses. Actually, come to think of it on one incident, we made SURE she didn’t turn away from it by having her head held down by 3 other girls in order to experience it. Let me just say, she sure made the birthday girl happy on her 21st!

After her first experience with Hana, we saw some changes in Mindy. On one cold, alcohol-less night in Hong Kong Mindy shared another kiss with a girl to acquaint herself with the people and culture. Luckily for mindy, Goldies puckered her lips well and coated them with strawberry chapstick. So, as a token of that moment… we have a little gift for you.

Boys (“boys, sometimes a girl just needs one” to be sung by Eric)

Although Mindy has had more than her fair share of guys chasing after her, we all know Mindy is very selective and fussy when it comes to her guys. Its not everyday that someone sweeps her off her feet. You have to be more than average and have certain qualities in order to get her attention. For those who don’t know already, mindy is looking for guys with:

- A good sense of humour
- Charm
- Act like Mr. Darcy from pride and prejudice (and we all know they don’t exist)
- Charisma – contrary to those who think that they can GET it.
- oh lastly… as I like to put it – guys with a height deficiency.

I’m sure the last point has been proved by those she has dated and those she’s taken an interest in *winks/nudges Eric*. So I present to you a RULER in the hope that you do find that TALL, dark and handsome prince that you deserve.

You drive me crazy (“you drive me crazy” to be sung by Eric)

Mindy drives me crazy….literally. . Some of you may have noticed not only does mindy have a really bad sense of direction she also gives really bad directions. On several occasions we’ve ended up in Eastern Creek rather than Fairfield, and in <> rather than Cherrybrook. When asked for directions, rather than giving landmarks or street names, she told us to “look for the little girl on the street”. Its no wonder we never hang out in her area. We’d never find our way home!

Everytime (“and everytime I fall…” to be sung by Eric)

Despite making fun of and embarrassing mindy, I truly do admire Mindy. She is a loyal and trustworthy friend. Everytime I’ve laughed, everytime I’ve cried mindy has been there for me. She’s always put her friends first. Out of all my friends, I don’t know anyone else who makes as much effort to keep in touch with their friends as she does. She will sacrifice her time, sleep and in some cases even money just to talk and catch up.

I’ve also noticed that Mindy is an excellent listener and trust me I know… I’ve put mindy to sleep several times. What surprises me the most was that, even though she’s already drifting off, she’ll ask questions and try to listen. Now that’s dedication!

Throughout the time I’ve known Mindy, I’ve never seen her cry. She’s always been positive and always smiling and when’s she’s not, I’m guaranteed to hear her infamous line: “you suck, I hate you”.

These are just some of the traits I love in Mindy. The rest I’ve managed to picked up and started using into my old manner and my speech. So much that my own boyfriend has to ask: “am I talking to Mindy or am I talking to Minh?”
There is no doubt in my mind that well be friends for a very long time (well…for as long as she can take me). So thank you Mindy, for being apart of my life, for the endless conversations and for being such a great friend! You are truly one of my dearest friends and I am truly grateful that I’ve had you in my life. Noone could ever replace what you’ve done for me. I’ll always have a special place for you in my heart! Happy Birthday Mindy!
