My quote for the day : "if you don't have anything useful to say... DONT SAY IT".

Your probably wondering why i'm having this spiel and its because i was watching a mass load of tv last night. I dont know about everyone else, but being home and indoors when its raining out is the best. I spent the majority of the day in front of the idiot box. Basketball wasnt on due to the weather, so i thought i might as well keep with the fitness tradition and give my eyes a workout instead. hahah.

Anyways, i was flicking between popstars and american idol (as mindy was) and came to the conclusion that Popstars is an american idol wanna-be and despite it trying to use the same concept, ultimately it fails. The even numbered panel simply doesnt work...as we've seen over the weeks. They just couldnt decide who was better than who. And honestly, i cant say i've been impressed by the talent. Last night was a poor show case!

More importantly, i want to comment on the LAME comments made by Christina Anu. Instead of commenting on the singing or the performance with some constructive feedback.. all she could say was "i love seeing big bodies move on the dance floor" to Arrnott and to Kiki "i cant wait to see more of your sexy little body, cause i know you have one under there". Now is that superficial or what? Sure appearances play some sort of role in the industry, but ultimately thats NOT what the competition is about.

American Idol wasnt much better. With comments such as "your beautiful" appearing many times. Although i think Simon Cowell gives it a bit more less superficiality and more realism with his comments. I think both Dicky and Simon have a flair. They can pick up on alot of things, and i've found most of the things they say are quite true. I mean, Amy Adams did look alot like Jay Leno! ahaha

All in all, i was not too impressed with the judges. But my verdict is, POPSTARS needs to stop trying to be Australian Idol and either stick to their original programme or get some creative ideas. Popstars if anything have never made it very far. Their best would probably have been bardot. And that was a once-off.

Anyways, a busy week ahead. As you may have guessed...i didnt do much on the weekend. Just the usual gym and swim session. Followed it with dinner at Church St with Mindy, Mel, Dave and Lowell. Oh and i tried to train the dog before he gets too old. He can shake hands now! (as long as your holding food that is! ahaha)
